to you much sooner than this.
Questions
about our products:
How much do meals cost?
All meals cost
$10. For more information on delivery charges, click
here.
Are
the meals fresh?
Yes... all meals
you seen in our stores are made fresh daily at our
Clayfield kitchen. They are delivered to the store
each morning in our refrigerated van, and anything
not sold at the end of each day is taken back to
Clayfield and frozen. We have quite a few Clayfield
customers who pick up frozen meals to stock up their
freezer, and we also do a regular donation of frozen
meals to Foodbank Queensland to distribute to charities
to feed the homeless.
What
is your definition of 'low fat'?
Anything we have
ticked on our menu as low fat contains 5% fat or
less. Even though some meals that are marked 'low
fat' seem to have naughty things in them (e.g. beef
fillets has a creamy potato bake), they are only
small portion sizes and come with lots of fresh
steamed vegies. We will be updating our website
shortly with full nutritional information.
How
many people will each meal feed?
All our meals
are currently designed to be large, single serving
sizes. Some meals (e.g. lasagne, beef stroganoff)
are bigger than others (e.g. beef fillets, snapper),
and could be shared by two people who don't eat
much. We will be launching couple and family meal
sizes soon.
Do
you sell desserts?
Not yet... but
we are currently testing out a few products and
some yummy tasting dessert options will be added
to our menu soon!
How
do you reheat the meals?
All meals have
microwave reheating instructions on the base of
the container. Different microwaves do vary slightly,
but as a general guide if the container is hot in
the centre of the base, your meal is hot all the
way through. Some of our customers who don't have
microwaves put our meals on an oven tray covered
with foil to reheat in the oven. Other customers
have had great success with a 'steam bath'... place
the meal in a stainless steel bowl or dish, pour
about 10cm of water into the bottom of a large stockpot
with tight fitting lid and place the stainless steel
dish with your meal inside it. Put the stockpot
lid on and turn the stove on to heat your meal.
Why
don't you sell your meals hot?
All our meals
are sold refrigerated (not frozen), ready for you
to take home or take back to the office and heat
up in the microwave. The reason we do this is because
you may not be eating straight away (a lot of people
take our meals home for dinners). It is much safer
to store fresh food refrigerated than hot, and reheating
then cooling meals multiple times is a good way
to make people sick! All our stores have microwaves
in them... if you want your meal heated up please
just ask the staff member who is serving you they
will be more than happy to help.
How
do I know your food is safe to eat?
All our meals are
prepared fresh daily by a qualified chef at our
Council approved commercial kitchen on Sandgate
Road at Clayfield. Meals and ingredients are stored
at or below 4°C, and transported in our refrigerated
delivery van. We have accredited food safety supervisors
at all stores, and all staff are trained in safe
food handling practices. We have documented food
safety and cleaning procedures in place, and we
even keep sample meals for each batch frozen for
up to a month in case they are required for testing.
All our staff eat Ten10 meals on their breaks, and
our suppliers have commented that we have "one
of the cleanest commercial kitchens" they have
ever seen.
I
think your food made me sick... what should I do?
Please let us know
- as soon as you can - because there is
only a small window of opportunity for testing to
be done. If you have leftovers or the container
please save them and store them in the fridge.
Please phone our kitchen on 3862 2388 or email feedback@ten10eats.com.au.
You will need to advise the date and approximate
time you purchased your meal plus the best before
date on the base of the container. |
